    Business Development Manager - IoT

    Role Purpose

    The IoT Business Development Manager is based within Vodacom Business.

     

    Role purpose: 

    • To achieve and exceed the IoT sales targets (primary targets are revenue and total contract value for) in the respective service industry cluster across the Vodacom Business segments/ Industry Verticals, channels and regions.
    • To develop and execute the IoT sales strategy for the South African market.
    • To manage the IoT pipeline within a particular service cluster (build the pipeline, manage the pipeline, close the pipeline, report the pipeline). Further, co-manage and develop new services, product & proposition within respective industry verticals with products & propositions team.
    • To be the Vodacom Business domain expert for IoT solutions across all vertical industries.
       

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Responsible for indirect IoT sales plan and its delivery against targets, in defined sales region and sales enablement
    • Working with Direct Sales to provide consultative client engagement and thought leadership in defining and driving sales activity for demand generation and winning propositions.
    • Identify and acquire IoT enterprise and customers in the region by selling IoT new IoT solutions (Global Connected Products and Local Connected Products
    • Professionally present Vodafone/Vodacom IoT solutions, negotiate and contract IoT deals
    • Responsible for co-creations, innovation and new solution development within a service industry.
    • Input into annual business planning and monthly/quarterly reviews
    • Align with Regional, Global and National Account Managers in the region to develop, drive and execute IoT sales into accounts managed in the region

    The ideal candidate for this role will have:

    • Extensive history of successful sales in the ICT B2B industry (> 10 years)
    • Needs to have good strategic skills & tactical execution skills, since structuring and establishing the local regional market is a large part of the role
    • Needs to have skills to network and stakeholder management at high level and focused on key decision makers within the verticals 
    • Understanding of the overall digital value chain, IoT impact on business models & where IoT can be used as a transformational tool in verticals
    • Ability to engage at CXX level
    • Be able to translate ICT principles, references and jargon to customer business value
    •  

    Must have technical / professional qualifications: 

    • >10 years ICT experience
    • Excellent English language skills (verbal and written)
    • Extensive history of successful Business-to-Business Sales in large, complex sales environment e.g. IoT / B2B telecoms/IT environment (>> 8 years)
