    Business Executive -Sales Management and Operations - Life Insurance

    The key performance areas amongst others include:

    • Facilitate the development and implementation of a national sales strategy.
    • Ensure that optimum sales systems and processes and procedures are in place.
    • Ensure that the national sales distribution network functions effectively.
    • Manage the provincial distribution and sales and operations structures.
    • Develop and oversee and maintain a worksite management plan at all sales levels.
    • Ensure optimum productivity.
    • Design and implement effective performance management processes
    • Oversee the effective and efficient management of insurance operations.
    • Identify and manage and report on operational risks.
    • Provide leadership and management direction to the national sales team.
    • Manage the tied agent’s sales network and expanding the customer base.
    • Implement effective stakeholder management practices.

    Qualifications:

    • A degree in marketing and/or business management.
    • A postgraduate degree in business management, e.g. an MBA will be advantageous.
    • FAIS compliance is mandatory.
    • RE1 and RE5 is mandatory.

    Skills, Know-How & Experience:

    • At least 10 years’ experience in strategy development and marketing and sales in the life insurance industry.
    • At least 5 years senior management experience.
    • In-depth knowledge of insurance legislation and other legislation regulating the industry.
    • In-depth knowledge of compliance and governance requirements in the life insurance industry.
    • Extensive knowledge of marketing strategies and tactics, marketing principles and methods.
    • Knowledge of resource allocation and manpower modelling and leadership techniques in the sales and distribution environment.
    • Proven success in business support role and/or in office management role
    • Business management expertise and experience
    • Expertise in the use of modern technologies
    • Ability to coordinate business development research
    • Strong skills in working with people and human resource management
    • Ability to evaluate, appraise, cost, and consider business risks
    • Have the following skills:
      • Well-developed interpersonal skills.
      • Well-developed communication skills.
      • Well-developed influencing and negotiating skills.
      • Well-developed conflict management skills.
      • Well-developed analytical skills, including problem-solving and decision-making skills.
      • Well-developed stakeholder management skills.
      • Well-developed senior leadership and management skills.
