    Business Unit Head Livestock - Southern Africa Business

    The Opportunity:   

    The Livestock business includes Poultry, Swine and Ruminants. Business Unit Head (BSH) will lead the strategic business planning process by setting and development of the strategic implementation plan, tactical plans and budget topline/DP, for both South Africa as well as Sub Sahara Africa.  

    The BUH provides direction and support for the multiple brands within the segment. As part of the Animal Health leadership team, the BUH will contribute to the development of the Animal Health Business Plan and the processes and policies that will ensure its delivery. BUH will manage BU activities surrounding planning, organizing and monitor activities/projects to achieve the business potential of the assigned BU.

    As part of the Animal Health Management team, the successful candidate will contribute to the definition of the company’s strategies and policies. Accountable for defining and executing short, medium and long-term strategic objectives for business strategy. Continuously deliver defined financial targets. Provides overall strategic direction guiding the development of the Livestock core brand objectives,  and tactical plans to ensure attainment of short/long term goals. Planning, Management and execution of Customer Business Plans and activities. Lead and develop the BU teams including but not limited to coaching, performance management, talent management and career development. Responsible for legal and ethical compliance of team.

    Requirements: 

    • + 7 years' experience in Commercial positions (Marketing and/or Sales) in the pharmaceutical industry preferably in Animal Health industry 
    • + 5 years front line leadership experience and people management, building high performance teams.
    • Experience of developing and delivering against sales & marketing and commercial strategy
    • Founded Experience in key account management.
    • Degree in Business Administration is an asset.
    • Experience in cross functional working.
    • Analytical thinking, decisiveness, Strategic Thinking, Proactive and autonomous, Planning, self-organization and co-ordination, Ability to work in un-constructed and changing environment, Ability to work under high pressure, Advanced negotiation skills.
