Position Summary

The Can Technical Operator ensures efficient operation of Can Manufacturing Department in terms of operations, maintenance, quality and product output, ensures that production requirements are met, and that the machinery under his control is kept in good running order.  operates, services, and maintains all can making equipment to achieve business kpi`s.

A day in the life of a Can Technical Operator

• Operate all can making machinery
• Service, repair and maintain existing and new equipment.
• Carries out planned maintenance and changeovers
• Reports defects to his/her manager and proposes remedial action. 
• Investigate and recommend actions to overcome problems encountered with equipment. 
• Troubleshoot as quick as possible whilst maintaining high standard of workmanship. (Obtain MSA, Production requirements and efficiencies)
• Prioritizes when two or more breakdowns occur at the same time with the involvement of the production personnel.
• Monitors and adjusts while operating as required.
• Carries out changeover of machinery as per production requirements and starts up as per standard.
• Undertakes to work shifts, overtime and standby as per company requirements

What will make you successful

• Must be a qualified Artisan Fitter
• Must have Matric and N3 qualification
• Minimum of at least 2-3 year’s experience in mechanical field after passing the trade test
• Manufacturing background
