The Role

Macmillan Education South Africa is seeking to appoint experienced professionals to the above-mentioned Publisher positions. These roles will be responsible for publishing a wide range of high-quality, profitable projects from Grade R–12, with emphasis on cost effectiveness, high approval results and timeous delivery within the parameters of agreed schedules.

Key responsibilities:

• Networking, market research, concept-building and keeping abreast of market developments

• Effective project management for both print and digital projects

• Efficient publishing administration

• Project budget management

• Sales and marketing support

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree

• Three years of educational publishing experience; teaching experience would be an advantage

• Good understanding of the educational publishing industry and education environment

• Able to interpret subject curricula, policies and related documentation from Grade R–12

• Sound knowledge of copyright and contract compliance and processes

• An ability to switch between print and digital media would be an added advantage

• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

• Excellent project management skills

• Strong organisational skills

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• Able to work under pressure and to meet deadlines

• Able to work independently and within a team
