What are we looking for?

We are looking for someone with the following experience, qualifications and /or skillsets:

• Matric.
• Early Childhood Development certificate level 4.
• 1 years’ experience at an Aftercare or as a Teacher Assistant.

The responsibilities are:

 Activities Familiarization and classroom/ grounds set up   

• Review weekly plan to familiarise self with theme and lessons.
• Tidy classroom, prepare and set up the classroom based on the lesson plan for the following day or the grounds.
• Prepare grounds for the day.

Aftercare Assistance  

• Understand the aftercare and holiday programme for the day.
• Monitor extramural activities.
• Work according to appointed activity or placement and oversee the learners.
• Take out toys for playing.
• Oversee snack time in afternoon.
• Make sure that the right person collects learners.
• Supervise bathroom routine including hygiene.
• Prepare learners for home time including packing of bags.
• Make notes of incidents and call parents if more serious.
• Courtesy calls to parents for late pickups and get parents to sign fees list.
