Catering Department Manager at Icebolethu Group

Icebolethu is calling for suitable candidates to apply for the permanent position of a Manager for our Catering Business in the Gauteng Province. The incumbent will be required to develop the Catering strategy by considering market trends, regulations and how it may translate into operational execution through alignment of core business strategic objectives to effective operations of all Catering operations to support their bottom-line performance.

Minimum Qualifications

• National Diploma or Degree in Home Economics / Hospitality / Catering Related Field.
• Master’s degree in business administration or business leadership is advantageous
• Assessor and Moderator Qualifications
• Registered with the Catering SETA

Experience and Knowledge required

• Minimum of 8 years experience in Catering Management

Key Performance Areas:

• Enhance the Group’s effectiveness by providing leadership in Catering Operations (Gauteng), implementing controls, ensuring business viability of Catering Services in Gauteng.
• Ensure Quality Control is in accordance with the Company standards
• Management support, representing the company well to others in the resolution of client issues and ensuring that Icebolethu remains market leaders in the catering environment
• Ensure the superior performance of Icebolethu Group to clients by providing a zero defects service.
• To ensure that equipment is well maintained and in good working order at all times,
• To maintain records of subordinates, leave, allocation of duties and to provide holistic leadership of the team while remaining fully accountable for the performance of the team
• Coach, guide and mentor subordinates, Monitor and promote the high level of staff performance.
• Plan and allocate work in a manner to create efficiencies.
• Efficiently planning of human resources in accordance with the set performance targets for the branch.
• Reduce and eliminate overheads and unnecessary spend.
• Ensure strict adherence to company policies, procedures, systems and processes.
• Address and take corrective measures on all identified Risks.
• Ensure staff compliance on PPE and Health and Safety Policies.
• Manage and orchestrate the entire strategic review process.
• Plan and implement medium- and long-term business strategies to achieve the Catering Business objectives.
• Develop and implement effective succession plan for all key roles in Catering Businesses
• Ensure a safe workplace without risk to health.
• Apply a structured methodology and lead change management activities.
• Provide structure and Catering Business governance in accordance with accepted Industry norm.
• Partner with the Group Managing Executive in addressing performance, compliance and risk relating to Catering Business issues in Core Businesses.
