EXPERIENCE

• 5 - 10 years experience as Chemist in an Analytical Lab with exposure to cement quality and production.

DUTIES

• Management of the GLO Chemical laboratory.
• Accurate, reliable and timeous results to customers for analysis / testing of materials.
• Technical/ analytical support to factories and Sales & Marketing.
• Support with the training of laboratory personnel.
• Deliver value in terms of suggestions and improvement in analytical laboratories.
• Maintain and improve the ISO 17025 accreditation system.
• Manage the laboratory budget and assets to deliver a competitive and cost-effective analytical service.
• Organisational performance management.
• Interpretation and communication of management information.
• Participation in meeting and improving the common performance goals of Group Laboratory Services
• To ensure an accurate, reliable and cost-effective analytical service laboratory in support of PPC’s Vision.
• Manage the work environment in the Chemistry Laboratory to ensure that motivated employees deliver this service in an efficient, cost effective and safe manner.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT

• Knowledge of XRF, XRD, ICP, AA, IC & wet chemistry techniques.
• Knowledge of the theory and application of cement products.
• Knowledge of ISO 17025 and management systems.
• Excellent problem solving skills.
