    Chief Executive: People Support

    PURPOSE OF THE JOB 

    • To develop, drive and deliver a comprehensive People Support strategy that is aligned to meeting PEP’s key initiatives, goals and objectives.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Take responsibility for the people support function and strategy
    • Play a guardianship and directive role on the PEP culture and employment brand
    • Strategic responsibility that involves finding solutions to PS specific needs in a business context and business needs generally
    • Leadership of the people support departments including Talent Management, Employment Relations, Employment Equity, Remuneration and Benefits, Training and Development, Payroll and PS systems.
    • Effectively manage high quality and cost-effective initiatives,
    • Provide technical leadership, direction, guidance and service on Policies and Procedures
    • Ensure PS compliance and corporate governance in the context of a listed entity
    • Play the role of trusted advisor and strategic business partner in the executive team

    Requirements

    JOB INCUMBENT REQUIREMENTS

    • Relevant tertiary qualification
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience at executive level, and preferably with senior management experience in clothing  retail
    • Previous experience working in a unionized environment will be an advantage.
    • Ability to interact at a strategic level with credibility, confidence, gravitas, impact and influence
    • Excellent communication and influencing skills
    • Ability to build strong strategic relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
    • Excellent leadership skills and an ability to inspire and mobilize a team
    • Ability to  understand, analyze and interpret various internal and external factors that may impact the function and PEP
    • Analytical ability, business and commercial acumen, initiative, focus and commitment to achieve results
    • Proven change management ability
    •  Highly developed ethics, people relationship and interpersonal skills. Self -awareness and emotional maturity
    • Competencies: Organizational sensitivity; Planning & Structuring; Innovating, Strategic insight, Problem Assessment and Decision Making; Communication and Interpersonal Skills; Ability to contribute to an EXCO team as well as lead a functional team.
