    Chief Financial Officer - Board Appointment

    Key Responsibilities

    Strategic Financial Leadership

    • Develop and execute the Group’s global financial strategy aligned with corporate objectives and long-term value creation.
    • Lead integrated business planning, long-range financial modelling, and scenario planning across commodity cycles.
    • Provide strategic financial insights to support M&A, partnerships, growth projects, and portfolio optimisation.
    • Drive disciplined capital allocation frameworks and return thresholds for major investments and projects.
    • Support feasibility studies, project finance modelling, and life-of-mine financial planning.

    Listed Company Governance & Reporting

    • Ensure full compliance with stock exchange regulations and listed company disclosure requirements.
    • Oversee accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with IFRS.
    • Lead the finance interface with the Board and Audit & Risk Committee.
    • Present financial performance, outlook, and strategic drivers to shareholders, analysts, and institutional investors.
    • Ensure governance alignment with King IV and global best practice.

    Financial Management & Treasury

    Provide oversight of the full finance function including:

    • Group financial reporting and consolidation
    • Budgeting, forecasting, and performance management
    • Treasury, liquidity management, and banking relationships
    • Capital structure optimisation and covenant management
    • Tax planning and compliance across jurisdictions
    • Enterprise risk management and insurance strategy
    • Lead foreign exchange risk management, global cash optimisation, and cross-border financing structures.

    Mining Sector Financial Oversight

    Manage the financial complexities of mining operations including:

    • Resource and reserve valuation inputs
    • Rehabilitation and environmental provisioning
    • Royalties, mining taxation regimes, and fiscal agreements
    • Joint ventures and project financing structures
    • Provide financial insight to drive operational efficiency including cost-per-ton, recovery rates, logistics and energy optimisation.

    Capital Markets & Investor Relations

    • Support the organisation’s investor relations strategy and market communications.
    • Engage with institutional investors, analysts, lenders, and ratings agencies.
    • Lead capital raising initiatives, refinancing activities, and strategic funding transactions.
    • Articulate the company’s equity value proposition and financial narrative to the market.

    ESG & Integrated Reporting

    • Oversee the finance contribution to ESG disclosures and integrated reporting.
    • Ensure strong governance of climate, rehabilitation, safety, and community metrics influencing valuation and access to capital.
    • Support sustainable finance initiatives including sustainability-linked financing instruments.

    Financial Systems & Digital Transformation

    • Lead the implementation and optimisation of ERP and financial systems across international operations.
    • Drive standardisation of financial processes, analytics capability, and automation.
    • Ensure robust internal control environments and governance frameworks.

    Leadership

    • Lead and develop a high-performing global finance team.
    • Build strong succession pipelines across reporting, treasury, tax, and commercial finance disciplines.
    • Foster a culture of integrity, accountability, and strategic partnership with operations.

    Requirements

    Qualifications:

    • CA(SA), CPA, ACCA or equivalent chartered accounting qualification
    • MBA or postgraduate business qualification advantageous

    Job-specific experience:

    • 10–15 years progressive financial leadership experience
    • Proven CFO or Deputy CFO experience in a listed, multi-jurisdictional organisation
    • Strong exposure to the mining or natural resources sector
    • Demonstrated success in capital raising, investor relations, and lender engagement
    • Experience leading large-scale ERP or finance transformation initiatives
