Chief Financial Officer at Credit Guarantee

Accountable to provide a complete financial, accounting, risk-management, compliance, investment, security, secretarial and administrative service, and good telecommunication to the company, its clients and all its stakeholders. Ensure compliance with applicable legislation. 

Critical objectives and responsibilities

To provide a complete financial, accounting, risk-management, compliance, investment, reinsurance, and good communication to the company, its clients and all its stakeholders.

• Financial governance and reporting: reporting to be transparent and in compliance with IFRS.
• Assuming overall responsibility for all General Ledger reconciliations analysing GL accounts, ensuring a high degree of data accuracy.
• Provision of timely & accurate management of the reinsurance accounting function.
• Provide input into the organisation’s strategic planning and share accountability for results with CEO.
• Based on long term plans, and together with the CEO, develop the annual plan for the organisation.
• Collate, prepare and interpret reports, budgets, accounts, commentaries and financial statements.
• Strong guidance and understanding of taxation and VAT regulations, and maintaining an up to date knowledge of any changes.
• Review organisations bottlenecks and recommend changes to improve the overall level of company throughout.
• Act as the financial expert and advise the CEO in strategic decisions.
• Manage operational income and expenditure against budget, and prepare monthly and quarterly updates of budget forecasts for management.
• Prepare quarterly board reports and presentations.
• Prepare quarterly progress reports for board.
• Responsible for the relationship management as well as reporting to the Shareholders from a financial perspective.

Qualifications

• Hons B Compt CA (SA)
• 3 – 5 years’ experience to the full range of CFO requirements in the financial services industry.
• 2 – 3 years’ experience in reinsurance management.
• Knowledge of accountancy (IFRS), taxation and other statutory requirements
