Overall Purpose of the Role:

• The purpose of the role is to partner with key stakeholders to provide trusted and valued governance, risk, legal, and compliance services that advances the Group Strategy. The Chief Risk Officer (CRO) is the corporate executive tasked with assessing and mitigating significant competitive, regulatory, and business risks

Responsibilities:

• Understands how the business operates, what the key issues and risks are that drives business success
• Develops comprehensive, integrated strategies and approaches to selecting, managing, and retaining high quality staff
• Drive a sense of urgency, focus, accountability, agility, and execution to deliver business result
• Develops global strategic partnership to address anticipated needs
• Continually scans the environment for best practices in industry specialisation and applies judgement to develop new and implement new methods and frameworks

Skills and experience required:

• Must have Post graduate degree/qualifications in Risk Management/ Compliance/ Legal or Governance
• Must have IRMSA or CISA or ICSA
• 8 - 10 years experience in risk Management, compliance, legal or governance within an insurance or financial services environment
• Must have 5 -7 years business management or risk, compliance or governance experience at a senior management level
• Must have knowledge of the financial services, particularly insurance industry and regulatory requirements
