    Claims Admin Manager

    What will you do?

    • Santam Alternative Claims department has a position available for a Claims Admin Manager who will work between Constantia Park, Roodepoort and Auckland Park, Johannesburg. The candidate will manage the claims team dealing with motor and non-motor claims. Responsibilities will include: managing, supporting and developing the team in order to ensure superior service delivery within the Service Level Agreements and Standard Operating Procedures. The role will also require leading, coaching and motivating claims team managers and claims team to ensure that they fully comprehend and are capable of delivering their responsibilities.

    • Ensure all operational problems are rapidly analysed and resolved.
    • Setting goals and making the most of the people, finances and technologies in order to realise those goals.
    • Assist with the implementation of new initiatives and projects.
    • Manage integration between other functional areas e.g. Desktop- and Field Assessors.
    • Manage performance related issues and disciplinary matters.
    • Effective communication - internal and external.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Grade 12
    • Insurance related qualification
    • Computer literate Advanced (MS Word, MS Excel and MS Power Point)
    • Relevant Technical Diploma, B Degree (advantageous)
    • Experience in high volume processes management (advantageous)
    • 2-5 years’ experience and knowledge in line to middle management level
    • 5-10 years’ insurance experience
    • Strong Analytical and Management Reporting skills (Qlikview)
    • Experience in high volume processes management (advantageous)
    • Experience in Workflow Management
    • Relevant systems knowledge
    • Strong client service orientation
    • Experience in developing & coaching staff
    • Good communication (verbal & written )
    • Must have people management skills
    • Negotiation skills
    • Good knowledge and interpretation of insurance contracts

    Knowledge and Skills

    • Management of Operational Support department and People management functions
    • Signing off user specs and provide input for systems developments
    • Manage SLA’s
    • Drive the administrative implementation of new and existing processes, procedures, legislative changes and projects
    • Budgeting, expense management
