A Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BChD/BDS) and current registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Dentist, a minimum of four (4) years’ work experience post-registration as a Dentist.
A post-graduate qualification in Management or Public health will be an added advantage. Competencies and skills required: Managerial skills, at least at unit level. Computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Microsoft 365). People Management, Conflict Management and Data analysis and reporting.
Duties :
Provide strategic leadership and provincial oversight for Oral Health Promotion and Integrated Oral Health Programmes in Gauteng Province. Lead the development, implementation, monitoring and review of provincial Annual Performance Plans, oral health strategies, operational plans, policies, guidelines, protocols and standard operating procedures.
Provide strategic direction on the integration of oral health services with priority health programmes including School Health, Health Promotion, Primary Health Care, Maternal and Child Health, Nutrition, Non-Communicable Diseases, HIV/AIDS, Disability Services, Mental Health and Community Outreach Programmes.
Coordinate stakeholders and intersectoral collaboration with districts, academic institutions, municipalities, NGOs and other partners. Strengthen clinical governance, quality assurance, risk management, referral pathways, capacity building and evidence-based oral health promotion interventions. Manage allocated human, financial and physical resources in line with legislative and departmental prescripts.
