    Clinical Nurse Practitioner Grade 1 to 2 (Primary Health Care)

    • Assist with the management of the burden of disease in accordance with the guidelines and protocols of the western cape. Provide and maintain quality of care of all patients and health services.
    • Maintain accurate clinical records, statistics registers, and referral records. Effective utilization of Resources/Stock within the limited budget constraints. Participation in Community events and initiating awareness with regards to health-related issues.
    • Maintain and participate in inter-professional and multi-disciplinary teamwork but able to work independently.
    • Supervise and mentor lower categories of staff. Maintain professional growth/ethical standards and self-development.
    • Basic R425 qualification (i.e., diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council as Professional Nurse and Midwife. Post-basic qualification, with duration of at least 1-year, in Curative Skills in Clinical Nursing Science: Health Assessment, Treatment and Care accredited with the SANC (R48).
    • Current registration with the South African Nursing Council as Professional Nurse and Midwife.
    • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of Nursing and public service legislation. Computer literacy (MS Word and Excel). Ability to promote quality patient care through the implementation of protocols, guidelines and standards. BANC & PACK training or experience.
    • Grade 1: A minimum of 4 years’ appropriate/recognisable nursing experience after registration with the SANC as Professional Nurse in General Nursing.
    • Grade 2: A minimum of 14 years appropriate/recognisable nursing experience after registration with the SANC as Professional Nurse in General Nursing.
    • At least 10 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/recognisable experience after obtaining the 1-year post-basic qualification in the relevant specialty.
    • Prepared to work at different facilities within the Sub District inclusive a Mobile and when needed within the community (COPC concept). Valid (Code B/EB) driver’s license.
    • Grade 1: R 476,367 per annum, Grade 2: R 583,989 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
