CLOUD ARCHITECT at IBM

As a Cloud Architect at IBM Services, you are providing consultative, architectural, program and engineering support for our customers' journeys to the cloud. As part of this journey you are delivering innovative solutions that are tailored to the specifics needs of our customers. Building on your extensive experience with RedHat OpenShift you are building next-generation cloud native applications, sophisticated system integrations or ambitious cloud migration projects in a team of brilliant builders

Your Role and Responsibilities

• Understand whole solution architecture concepts and can communicate and negotiate designs with customer architects.
• Expertise in Cloud Governance and compliance.
• Conceptualize solutions and develop architecture for large AWS and/or Azure engagements
• Familiarity with data center concepts and best practices, high - availability systems, capacity planning, system performance evaluation, and diagnostic techniques and methodologies.
• Develop automation scripts (using Python / Python / Shell / Power shell/ VB scripts) and batch files for automation of system and application administration on cloud.
• Maintain best practices on managing systems and services across all environments
• Proactively monitoring system performance and capacity planning
• Create and modify scripts or applications to perform tasks
• Provide input on ways to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment
• Collaborate with other teams and team members to develop automation strategies and deployment processes
• Approve vendor level escalations and assist the L3 or L2 Engineers with incident resolution and closure.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• AWS and/or Azure certifications
• RedHat ecosystem (Openshift, Ansible, RH Fuse, RH SSO, etc)
• Advisory or consultancy experience in technical projects and services
• 3+ years of experience in Openshift, Azure, AWS, Google or IBM Cloud technologies
• 5+ years of experience in delivering complex and large-scale IT projects
• 1+ year of experience in architecting in enterprises using agile methodologies (SCRUM, Kanban), Design Thinking
• Cloud-native application development (PaaS, Serverless technology, API management, microservices)
• Microservices (Java Springboot and others), Serverless, Istio
• Microservices containers & orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, etc)
• Programming languages: Java, Node.js, Python, JavaScript, PHP
• DevOps and CI/CD principles (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Github, etc.)
• Architecture-Design: Cloud-native and Cloud-ready applications (APIenabled, containerization)
• API REST, API Gateways, Swagger, OAuth
