    Commercial Analyst, Durban

    Position Purpose

    • The incumbent will be required to provide the business with flexible, sound and responsive finance support. The incumbent will provide this support through having a sound knowledge of management accounting, financial systems, CHEP core commercial systems and overall general business knowledge. The primary objective of the incumbent would be to provide commercial support to business driven initiatives that maximize revenue flows, enhance business efficiencies, deliver cost savings and/or improve efficiencies in business systems and processes.


    • ·       Carry out adhoc commercial evaluations for targeted business operational initiatives
    • ·       Enhancement and analysis of business performance measurements such as Metrics etc
    • ·       Monthly Business reporting
    • ·       Participate in internal adhoc projects
    • ·       Participate in the Annual Budget process
    • ·       Perform various Financial Evaluations and BVA calculations for new products and services as well as new and existing customers
    • ·       Prepare adhoc reports & enhance business efficiencie


    •     Occasional overtime
    •     Occasional travel
    •     Working across time zones and cultures
    •     Working autonomously or having limited access to immediate manager


    • B. Comm (essential)
    • B. Comm (Honours) (optional)
    • CIMA (optional)


    • 2 - 3 years in a similar role within a large organisation.
    • Industry experience would be advantageous.

    Skills and Knowledge

    • Analytical and accurate.
    • Ability to challenge cross functional teams.
    • Strong communication and listening skills.
    • Self-starter who is able to multi task.
    • High proficiency in Excel.
    • SAP/BW and Project Management skills would be advantageous
