    Communications Manager

    Purpose

    • To develop, support and enable the RMB Communications strategy to optimise company positioning and reputation as well as ensure employees are engaged with the organisation’s strategy, priorities and culture

    Experience and Qualifications

    • Relevant Diploma / Degree
    • 5 -7 years’ experience in a similar role
    • Project management (including managing vendors)
    • Established network of media relations, editors and journalists
    • Reputation and crisis management
    • Proven track record of partnering with senior stakeholders to execute on communication requirements
    • Public relations and media management Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    • Business to Business marketing and ways of working
    • Corporate and Investment Banking, financial markets understanding
    • Relevant product knowledge (advantageous)
    • Understanding of reputation and crisis management
    • Corporate internal and employee communications strategies
    • Content creation and review across multiple areas and channels
    • Writing, editing, web knowledge and digital innovation
    • Culture and talent retention

    Responsibilities

    • Understand industry trends and best practice, competitor activities, new technologies and innovations to analyse and identify Bank–wide opportunities and challenges in the management of communication activities (including employee engagement & reputational risk management)
    • Display an understanding of the strategic intent and direction of the company and how the different areas contribute to the overarching RMB objectives.
    • Perform a strategic partnership role in translating and aligning communication tactics to support and enable company objectives and culture, as well as driving thought leadership and capability.
    • Work closely with RMB and Group stakeholders to ensure compliance to Group reputational risk management frameworks.
    • Partner with relevant stakeholders to ensure the consistent application of the RMB brand across internal engagement initiatives
    • Influence media relations/ PR strategy/client communications to ensure targeting of key audiences (C-suite, stakeholders, influences).
    • Work closely with the relevant stakeholders to craft internal communications plans which will encourage employee engagement and alignment of strategy
    • Collaborate with the marketing leads to source stories and share key wins and successes both internally and externally
    • Provide direction for the overall exercise of PR management by identifying best placement opportunities and coordinating with relevant stakeholders
    • Align with Research to identify and monitor effective benchmarks for measuring the effectiveness of communication tactics
    • Monitor and analyze competitor communications and insight Drive and manage the use of a mix of communication channels, with a key focus on digital and content to drive impactful communications.
    • Partner with the digital team to ensure that external news flow is appropriately leveraged through the relevant digital channels and that social media feedback is monitored and actioned.
    • Integrate marketing channels with the objective to improve overall user experience and employee engagement
    • Act as the custodian of corporate information/data across external media channels
    • Ensure delivery of accurate and relevant information and messaging to all key external media stakeholders. This includes preparation, content, distribution, press events and measurement
    • Plan and deploy all Business Unit communication requirements, namely content writing, drafting executive messages and proofreading
    • Work with Marketing, Business and External stakeholders to implement communication initiatives that impact across functional areas and disciplines
    • Ensure effective and efficient delivery of key projects on time and within budget
    • Partner with relevant and best of breed suppliers as required to ensure the consistent and effective application of communication initiatives
    • Provide input into marketing budgets taking into account business, budget priorities and constraints
    • Drive commerciality in approach
