    Content Developer: African Languages

    Purpose:

    The Content Developer is a crucial element within the Phoenix 3000 project. Phoenix 3000 is a project concerned with the clearing of rights and permissions on existing titles. As the Content Developer, you will be required to lead and manage a team of Content Liaisons as well as successfully deliver a list of high-quality titles according to the spec and within specified deadlines. The Content Developer will be supported by team members fulfilling different roles who are closely involved in the Phoenix 3000 project.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Successfully manage an allocated list of titles on Phoenix 3000 through the various processes of research & permissions, content replacement and production.

    • Lead a team of Content Liaisons to ensure all required work is completed during allocated time periods.

    • Provide guidance and feedback to Content Liaisons on acceptable and appropriate text replacements and photo selections.

    • Assist Content Liaisons in resolving all text and image related queries.

    • Work closely with external vendors during the rights clearance and production processes.

    • The Content Developer should familiarise themselves and engage on the project management platform, Jira. Phoenix 3000 is actively managed through Jira.

    • Source quality authors & subject matter experts to assist with replacement content where necessary.

    • Work with the internal Pearson team to commission authors, subject matter experts and translators.

    • Work with the author and Content Liaison to make content changes.

    • Production of titles will be completed externally, the Content Developer must ensure that all required changes have been correctly executed and implemented by the vendor.

    • Make certain that all elements within a product family, such as learner books, teacher guides and other related components are aligned.

    • Ensure the quality of output of each title completed on Phoenix 3000 is as per the standards required by Pearson.

    • Collaborate closely with other stakeholders and colleagues during all stages of the project.

    • Provide updates and feedback to the leadership team on progress of titles.

        Other Information:

    • The Content Developer is able to work remotely.

    • No interprovincial or national travel will be required as part of this fixed term contract role.

    • Standard working hours are 08:30 to 16:30, Monday to Friday.
