Cook -Ottery at Tsebo Solution

• We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cook to join our school catering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing nutritious, well-balanced meals for learners and staff while maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and customer service.

Duties & Responsibilities    

• Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus and recipes.
• Ensure food is presented attractively and served on time.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in the kitchen.
• Assist with menu planning and food production schedules.
• Monitor food quality, portion control, and stock levels.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Receive and store food supplies correctly.
• Minimise food waste and control costs effectively.
• Work collaboratively with the catering team to provide an excellent dining experience.

Skills and Competencies    

• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Ability to prepare meals in large volumes.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Reliable, punctual, and well-organised.

Qualifications    

• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
• Relevant culinary qualification will be advantageous.
• Minimum 2 years' cooking experience in a school, hospitality, healthcare, or contract catering environment.
