Copywriter - Temporary at Avon

Role Type: Temporary - 3-4 months' contract to start immediately.

What You'll Be Doing:

This position is responsible for writing error-free copy as well as proof-reading copy for the Avon and Justine brochures, representative/consultant mini-magazines and additional marketing material.

The KPI’s this position will be measured against include:

• Writing copy that is on time and to brief, meets the Brand Style Guide, is accurate (error-free), grammatically correct (grammar and spelling), simple, direct and effective across all written media
• Support Marketing and Art Directors in executing strong “shopping stories” in the brochure by assisting in planning themes and copy ideas and providing exciting, appealing copy
• Proof-reading/quality check of printed proofs as/when required

Role Responsibilities:

Writing copy

• Accountable for producing copy that is on time and to brief, meets the Brand Style Guide, is accurate (error-free), grammatically correct (grammar and spelling), simple, direct and effective across all written media

Changes

• Accountable for making changes following the conceptual, marketing and management reviews

Planning & Brainstorming

• Accountable for attending all planning and reviews and making valuable contributions during these meetings and taking notes
• Accountable for assisting in creating strong brochure stories and themes by initiating and attending brainstorming sessions

Proof-reading/Quality check

• Responsible for proof-reading/doing a quality check on printed proofs as/when required

Job Requirements:

• Graduate Caliber with experience working in a media environment
• 2 – 5 years’ experience as a copywriter/journalist
• Excellent, proven written skills in English
• Good verbal English with good communication skills
• Good time management, ability to juggle a heavy workload, prioritise and work well under pressure
• Good attention to detail
• Previous experience of working in a media/editorial environment, understanding the challenges faced.
• Knowledge or experience of working for a catalogue or direct selling business an advantage.
• Ability to manage own workload and projects, having an awareness of the rest of the team’s workload.
