Key Purpose
Responsible for analysing financial data, monitoring expenditure, conducting cost analysis, and providing insights to assist management in decision-making processes. Will also work closely with various departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and cost control measures are implemented.
Asset location and identification management
- Is responsible for maintaining on an ongoing basis the physical tagging of each SAIPA asset.
- Ensuring that such assets are in existence at all times.
- Ensuring that all assets are correctly recorded in the Fixed Assets register.
- Conducting physical asset verification exercises from time to time.
- Ensuring that the External Auditors are 100% satisfied with asset existence and location at SAIPA.
Maintaining the Fixed Assets register:
- Ensuring the Fixed Asset register is kept up to date at all times and is a true record of the Fixed Assets belonging to SAIPA.
- Ensuring that asset values recorded clearly reflect both the cost of the asset and the current value if such values differ.
- Ensuring that the Fixed Asset register is at all times in agreement with the General Ledger of SAIPA.
- Ensuring that the Fixed Assets are properly and logically categorized in the Fixed Assets Register in terms of IFRS.
- Ensuring that the Fixed Assets register and assets within the register are all recorded in line with IFRS.
Cost Analysis:
- Conducting ad-hoc costing analyses as and when required.
- Investigating and reporting on cost variances each month together with Department Heads.
Assisting the CMAM as and when required Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assisting the CMAM in preparing the annual income and expenditure budgets on a monthly basis per department for submission to the Executive and Board for approval.
- Assisting the CMAM in preparing a three-year budget forecast each year for submission to the Executive and Board for approval.

Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Revenue and Cost Reporting:
- Assisting the CMAM with all the required monthly, quarterly and annual revenue and cost reporting.
Assisting with all variance analyses required Process Management:
- Assisting in all aspects of SCM processes which are require din terms of the SAIPA SCM process.
- Checking cost codes for correctness.
- Checking procurement values for correctness.
- Maintaining revenue and cost reports together with the CMAM.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Assisting all other Departments as and when assistance is required.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Assisting the CMAM to identify all organisational risks on an ongoing basis
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
- Professional certification such as CIMA/similar is preferred
- Proven experience as a Financial Accountant or similar role
Experience
- 3 – 5 years’ minimum experience
- Minimum of three (3) years’ accounting experience
