About The Role
As part of the team accountable for Foodics expansion, The Market Launcher role is one of the most challenging and rewarding one that an individual will come across. The Launcher is in the forefront of Foodics operations and expansion plans. You will be accountable for accessing, building and watching over the country you will launch - South Africa in this case- till it takes off and grow!
The role entails conducting excessive market research in order to understand the country's potential, pain points, regulations and market opportunity, as well as getting sales of products off the ground in South Africa. You will be growing the business from ground up and be very hands-on in the expansion and launching of our suite of restaurant management products.

Key Responsibilities:
At the early stages:
Handle approvals, legal clearance and research about the country
Research and map out supply landscape, identify potential channels and partnerships that will increase user growth
Research demand and market sizing, pricing benchmarks
Launch commercial operations in South Africa as our first employee
Find your first customer and develop your market launch campaign strategy
Once successfully launched:
Create a marketing strategy to scale the client base and increase visibility
Own sales and business development - you will develop a GTM strategy and execute relentlessly on it
Serve as an individual contributor and increase sales in the market
Build and train a high functioning business development team that can meet top line metrics
Build relationships with strategic partners such as financial institutions and fintech players to ensure that our product is hyper-localized
Work closely with internal key stakeholders such as the product and marketing teams
Requirements
Demonstrated solid experience as an individual contributor as well as a team lead, preferably in a business development/partnerships function
Good awareness and understanding of South Africa relevant rules and regulations that may affect our launching activities
Experience and knowledge of the Food tech landscape - a fintech start-up experience is a big plus
Successfully rolling off similar projects in the past - ability to take things from zero to one in a structured manner
High problem solving skills, ability to navigate obstacles on the fly in a thoughtful and logical way
A confident communicator with strong people skills - experience in an external stakeholder facing role and can build rapport quickly
Experience making data-driven decisions and setting measurable objectives
Agile, thriving in a fast-based environment
Professional fluency in English - Bilingual is a plus
BA in business, marketing or other relevant fields
