    County Field Manager - Thohoyandou

    • The County Field Manager will play an integral role in the business and will have to ensure achievement through effective execution of the regional and national SLAs as agreed with Vodacom, on all current and future Vodacom projects within the respective county within the specific region. The County Field Manager is responsible for managing a County Field Sales & Marketing team and is accountable for the execution of sales plans, promotions, activations, acquisitions & specific targets as prescribed by each project brief/SOW/SLA agreed with the regional and/or national client.

    Qualifications

    • Matric
    • Advantageous a Commerce degree/ diploma from an accredited institution- preferably in marketing, business operations & sales.
    • Minimum of 2-5 years of field sales force management experience in a business-to-customer sales environment

    Additional Information

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Drive and meet sales objectives by continuously proposing solutions that add value and increase sales.
    • Acquire a thorough understanding of key customer needs and requirements.
    • Guide and support direct reports and relevant trade partners to participate and utilise the online training platform (Axonify)
    • Client liaison with County Managers as the main link between the county and the field team.
    • Develop and expand trusted relationships with Vodacom by continuously proposing solutions that meet their objectives.
    • Ensure products and services are delivered to customers in a timely manner and within budget and as cost effective as is possible.
    • Act as the key interface between the customer and all relevant internal stakeholders.
    • Quickly act to resolve any issues and problems faced by customer/s and deal with complaints to maintain trust.
    • Prepare regular reports of progress to internal and external stakeholders, namely the county manager using key account metrics and information pertaining to specific campaign or brief.

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    FINANCIAL

    • Management & control of costs on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. (e.g., Fuel / parking/ cash claims)
    • Actively involved in the structuring of various transactions in relation to current and new regional client projects
    • Constantly identifying more efficient ways to execute against briefs in terms of expenses to optimise savings for Vodacom in terms of cost per revenue, sale, acquisition, specific target as prescribed by each project brief/SOW/SLA.
    • Effective journey and diary route planning management.

    TALENT

    • Establishment of effective, sustainable periodic communication with all people in the respective county, up to date knowledge and provide a means of motivation with our staff through our collective successes.
    • Development of a strong team spirit and high-performance culture across the business, and running projects within the respective county.
    • Ensure that an active talent pool, pipeline & prospective candidates are maintained to ensure continuity of talent and skills in the business, in line with the job description and approved by Regional Account Manager. (1 potential replacement per role) to replace vacancies that may exist to ensure zero downtime.
    • Demonstrate productivity and capacity improvement for each staff member within their respective teams
    • Implement personal development plans, succession plans and identifications of a 2IC for their role.
    • Assume responsibility and immediately act on non-performance, utilizing training, company disciplinary codes & performance improvement plans.

    CUSTOMER

    • Responsible for handling the county relationship within the respective county, fostering the relationship between the company and the customer as well as handle any projects that exists within the Vodacom County portfolio.
    • Establishment of world class customer satisfaction performance improvement targets for the respective County.
    • Manage and monthly review the regional SLA & delivery against all requirements and feed back to the Regional Account Manager.
    • Act as a primary point of contact for the respective County.
    • Proactively assess, clarifies, and validates County requirements and satisfaction by engaging with key stakeholders on a regular basis

    STRATEGY

    • Managing and executing in line with the County strategy and objectives through a regional team of Field Marketers and Promoters.
    • Establish, communicate, lead, and drive innovative business strategies and implement against them.
    • Establish and maintain a professional relationship with all stakeholders (internal & external).
    • Help develop initiatives to increase customer satisfaction and retention.
    • Manage delivery against sales target.
    • Help senior management with company-wide strategic planning.
    • Assist all internal & external teams to meet targets and growth objectives.
    • Assist the Regional Account Manager within the Vodacom portfolio with strategies, insights and innovations as and when input is required

    PROCESSES

    • Drive and adhere to company and client business processes.

    OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE

    • Set and track targets, aligned with the project objectives within the Vodacom portfolio on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Manage execution against all targets set.
    • Monitor sales metrics (e.g., quarterly sales results and annual forecasts)
    • Suggest actions to improve sales performance and identify opportunities for growth.
    • Ensure all Regional and County concerns and developments are addressed timeously.
    • Effectively manage and prioritize between the various tasks and requirements for all new and active Regional Client projects within the Vodacom portfolio.
    • Coordinates team performance and objectives so that customers’ expectations are met.
    • Identifies opportunities to maximise profits for the client.
    • Accountable for the thorough implementation and achievement of the County related initiatives.
    • Responsible for all Health and Safety functions for the team and adherence to the client’s specific Health and Safety requirements. Conducting inspections on each visit with each staff member within a month to ensure compliance.
    • 100% minimum achievement on average monthly, against the regional and national SLA – all projects
    • Management of compliance against all processes, policies and procedures of Publicis Commerce and Vodacom and the ongoing measurable improvement there.
    • Directing and contributing to the improvement of operational performance through continually analysing existing performance and implementing logistical changes to improve speed, execution, and efficiency for the client through daily, weekly, and monthly reviews of target achievements.
    • Manage & Coordinate with various teams (internal & external) so that the customer’s expectations are met.
    • Manage the County within the Vodacom account to achieve long-term success and growth
    • Act as the point of contact and handle your county customers’ needs
    • Resolve conflicts and provide solutions (internal & external) in a timely manner

    ORGANISATION

    • Identifies deficiencies in skills among direct reports and work to improve individual’s capabilities through coaching, development, and training.
    • Recruit, manage and develop direct reports utilizing company human resources, guidelines, and support resources
    • Positively impact on the performance of individual team members by implementing and managing field support tools, control measures, productivity initiatives, as well as customer communication tools.
    • Builds peer support and strong internal-company relationships with other key management personnel.
    • Actively manage, review, and improve the internal business operating system.

    SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Must be currently functioning in environment driven by visible, measurable results.
    • Must have sound entrepreneurial and management experience in the field of operations within a communications industry
    • Must have extensive management background and be able to demonstrate ability to improve direct reports management skill at pace
    • Must have exceptionally strong organizational and time management skills and be able to demonstrate his/her ability to increase capacity
    • Must be able to deal with multiple deadlines and targets and be the sort of person that has his/her finger on the pulse at all levels of the Vodacom portfolio
    • Must be an inspirational and motivational leader with the ability to drive, inspire, and keep discipline for a vast team of people that are relatively young and inexperienced in leadership
    • Must be able to work extensive hours and travel away from home when required

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Vehicle less than 8 years’ old and must be in the name of the successful candidate. Vehicle must be fitted with a handsfree kit.
    • Proof of business insurance (with 30-day car hire option or has access to a reliable 2nd vehicle in line with company)
    • Valid Driver’s license
