Craft Preserve Artisan and Retail Store Supervisor at Sappi

Sappi Southern Africa requires a Craft Preserve Artisan and Retail Store Supervisor to meticulously processing fresh produce into craft preserves such as jams and chutneys and providing exceptional customer service in our farm stall, and the day to day operations of the Kitchen and Retail Store.

This role reports in to the Farm Foreman

The main responsibilities of this job are:

• Plan daily activities, assign tasks and ensure an efficient workflow.
• Provide guidance to staff, monitor attendance and work discipline.
• Ensure safe work practices on site.
• Conduct regular training sessions on standard operating procedures, complete planned job observations and sign off workers as competent on specific tasks.
• Use specific procedures to create high quality jams, pesto and other craft preserves ensuring the best quality and consistency in the production.
• Engage with customers in a friendly and knowledgeable manner.
• Adhere to food health and safety standards during the preservation process.
• Monitor and restock shelves to ensure product availability.
• Monitor the in-store fish tank including daily feeding, oxygen supply, filter cleaning and arranging restocking

The ideal candidate should have:

• Grade 12 with a pass in Life Sciences/Biology.
• A post-school qualification in food technology would be highly beneficial.
• Ability to work in a team and independently.
• Strong food safety and food quality control skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Computer literate. MS Office.
