    Credit Analyst

    • An exciting opportunity has become available for a highly skilled and experienced Credit Analyst to join a top investment management firm in Pretoria.
    • As the Credit Analystwithin this innovative and thriving business, your role will focus on providing analysis and recommendations on potential credit investments as part of the credit portfolio management process.

    Key qualifications and experience required for the Credit Analyst:

    • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field (i.e., Finance, Accounting, Mathematics or Statistics)
    • 6 – 8 years of experience in credit analysis within a banking or asset management environment
    • Practical experience working with credit market securities (including structured securities)
    • Advanced excel proficiency, with the ability to build corporate financial models
    • Strong research acumen

    Key duties of the Credit Analyst:

    • Perform credit research across various sectors in the economy
    • Drive efficiencies within the research process through quantitative credit risk models
    • Perform in-depth fundamental counterparty analysis considering relevant credit risk indicators
    • Build corporate financial models to support the investment thesis for an opportunity over the recommended investment horizon
    • Review applicable legal documentation for investment opportunities
    • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with portfolio managers, asset originators, legal advisors and applicable governance committees

    • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
    • Methodical, accurate with meticulous attention to detail
    • Self-motivated work ethic with organisational skills and ability to prioritize
    • Ability to collaborate with others
    • Strong analytical, math and research skills
