Data Scientist at Invictus Capital

The job:

In this role you will be part of the Data Science team at Invictus Capital. The team is responsible for all analytics and machine learning in the company and will work closely with the Engineering team when it comes to putting models in production. Your primary focus will be on improving and developing new trading strategies on the cypto markets as well maintaining existing fund management algorithms. 

You will be working on state-of-the-art algorithms touching a wide variety of domains. Examples of work are: Reinforcement-learning based trading AI bot, Supervised learning based fraud and abuse detection, Market-neutral crypto trading algorithms, financial backtesting and model validation, ...

What are we looking for:

• You are an independent problem solver who loves working with data and enjoys making a business impact. 
• You are a Data Scientist or AI engineer with experience in time-series analysis and deep learning model development.
• You have successfully implemented your models in modern cloud-based production environment.
• You should have a pragmatic and operational approach where academic knowledge is transformed into concrete results.
• You will be working with other technical people (developers, QA engineers, Front-end developers).

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelors / Masters degree in any STEM related field (PhD is a plus) 
• 2+ years of experience outside of academia in a commercial environment as a Software Engineer or a Data Scientist
• Programming capabilities experience with Python and/or JS
• Solid software engineering skills
• 3+ years of quantitative analysis experience in data science capabilities including data mining, predictive modelling, machine learning, statistical modelling, large scale data acquisition, transformation, and structured and unstructured data analysis. 
• Frameworks: Tensorflow, Jupyter notebook, Kubernetes 
• Software engineering: Git, Continuous Integration, Automatic deployment
• Experience with cloud service providers 

Other requirements:

• You have a strong mathematical aptitude as well as have some financial services experience and/or experience with cryptocurrencies.
• You work well and effectively in a team of technical and financial experts where you will combine your data science skills with the expertise of your colleagues.
• You have at least 2 yrs of experience as a Data Scientist or Software Engineer and have explicitly built and put models in production.
• We are looking for someone with a strong entrepreneurial spirit and interest in working in a startup environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, improve and maintain our trading strategies and fund management algorithms.
• Build proof-of-concepts of new trading strategies end-to-end from inception to having a model run live
• Working on the development of our AI-enabled funds
• Automate trading strategies using Machine Learning

Applicants who are found to have the necessary experience will be presented with a short case study to evaluate their skill set. They will then move to the interview stage.
