Demi Chef de Partie - Pastry at Belmond Mount Nelson Hotel

Belmond Mount Nelson Hotel is looking for a Demi Chef to join their Pastry Team:

• To prepare food and provide prompt, courteous and accurate service to all the customers (both internal and external) as per the set standards.
• Good knowledge of patisserie/desserts, breads, baking, cooking styles, hygiene & safety standards.
• Prepares the entire required mis en place that is required for a smooth kitchen operation and ensures that the section is set prior to service.
• Ensures hygiene and cleanliness of his/her area at all times.
• Judging quality of raw material & providing quality finished products.
• To follow safety rules and procedures at work.
• To carry out any additional tasks as assigned.
• Should maintain awareness of food cost, ensure minimum spoilage and wastage at all times.

Requirements

• Graduate from a Hotel Management Institute or Food Production Course from a reputed institute – advantageous.
• 2-5 years relevant experience, with a pastry background,
• Ability to work without supervision.
• Team orientation and goal Orientated.
• Must be eligible to work in South Africa
