Grade 12 plus an appropriate NQF level 7 qualification in Soil Science/Land Use Planning/ Agricultural Management/ Environmental Management or equivalent appropriate tertiary qualification as recognised by SAQA. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Land Care and Land Use environment of which 3 years must be at Assistant Director level. A valid driver’s licence (with the exception of people with disabilities).
Knowledge, Competencies And Skills: Sound and in-depth knowledge of relevant prescripts and understanding of the legislative framework governing the Public Service i.e Public Service Act, Public Service Regulations, Labour Relations Act, Public Finance Management Act. Experience of, and insight into legislation which impacts on Land Care and Land Use. People Management. Financial Management. Problem Solving. Planning & organizing. Time Management. DUTIES :
Manage and monitor the provision of integrated sustainable Land Use planning in accordance with CARA and SALA/ PDALA. Manage and monitor the implementation of Landcare programme. Monitor and coordinate the implementation of soil conservation. Manage and utilise resources (human and physical) in accordance with relevant directives and legislation.
