    Deputy Organisational Secretary

    Reporting to the Organisational Secretary, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: 

    • Providing secretariat services to the CHE Council and its subcommittees including attending meetings, compiling draft minutes and agendas as well as maintaining records of meetings. 
    • Assisting in co-ordinating the development of the CHE’s planning and reporting processes including the development of the calendar of the CHE’s annual meetings. 
    • Providing support in the development and maintenance of the Organisational Governance Framework, Governance Maturity Roadmap, Governance Registers, and Governance Implementation Plan. 
    • Providing support in the coordination of regular reviews of corporate governance processes and systems across the organisation for continuous improvement. 
    • Providing support in the development and review of the CHE Delegation of Authority to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation regarding governance-related responsibilities. 
    • Providing general administrative support to the governance structures of the CHE. 
    • Assisting with logistical arrangements, including venues, catering and travel arrangements, when governance meetings are being held physically. 
    • Providing support in drafting the Annual Performance Plan as well as the Quarterly and Annual reports. 
    • Provide support to the Organisational Secretary to coordinate ongoing training and development of the members of Council and governance committees. 
    • Providing support for ad hoc projects that are led from the CEO’s office. 

     The successful candidate should have: 

    • Relevant NQF level 7 qualification in Law, Public Administration/Management, Governance, or equivalent qualification. A level 8 qualification will be an advantage. 
    • At least 3 years of experience in a governance support role. 
    • Knowledge and understanding of corporate governance principles and best practices.
