Design Engineer (Roads) at GIBB Engineering and Architecture

Core Purpose

Prepare clear and accurate technical Designs, Drawings, diagrams and other technical documents based on design specifications, using Computer Aided Design (CAD) Software.

Key Performance Areas (KPIs)

The below listed responsibilities and requirements are assessed during the interview and will further be confirmed with the relevant professional references that you currently are or have reported to in your previously two positions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for/should possess the following:

• Perform Designs and Implementation of Infrastructure projects (Roads geometrics design specifically) and the Infrastructure element of multi disciplinary projects.
• Lead small to medium size projects 
• Optimise utilisation on revenue earning work
• Service excellence
• Compliance with Quality Management System
• Contribution to efficiency and effectiveness of sector.
• Mentor junior staff members
• Assist in the Preparation of Bids

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

• BSc/BTech Civil Engineering (ECSA Registration preferable)

Experience:

• Minimum of 10 years roads geometric design related experience (Civil Designer or Civil 3D).
• Experience in Rural and Urban roads designs.
• Experience in Pavement and/or hydrology design will be an added advantage.
• Experience in preparing tender documentation and contract administration related to roads projects
