    Development Officer : Bursaries and Scholarships

    The Advancement and Partnerships Office has a 1 Year Fixed-Term position for a Development Officer: Bursaries and Scholarships at the Giyani Campus.

    • INSTRUCTIONS: Applicants are required tsubmit together with the CVs, a standardized application form available from the university intranet as well as recently certified copies of qualifications and Identity Document. Failure tcomply with this instruction will disqualify the candidate. Further note that candidates may be expected tmake a presentation or undergo competency testing

    Critical Performance Areas

    • Raise financial support in the form of bursaries & scholarships
    • Facilitate the relationship between donors and the University.
    • Ensure increased bursary income
    • Engage prospective and potentials donors

    Minimum Requirements:

    • NQF level 6 ; A relevant 3-year qualification (Marketing/Public Relations/Communications)
    • 3 years relevant experience in:
    • Bursary and scholarship fundraising
    • Administration related tfundraising (advantageous)
    • Building funding relationships (advantageous)
    • Report writing (advantageous)
    • Marketing

    Or

    • NQF level 5; (Marketing/Public Relations/Communications), Plus 5 years relevant experience

    Knowledge and Skills
    Knowledge

    • Knowledge of developmental needs of higher education and the country
    • Knowledge of maintaining relations
    • Knowledge of the trends in the funding environment
    • Knowledge of cultivation and stewardship

    Skills

    • Communication skills
    • English competency, writing and presentation skills
    • Time management skills
    • Interpersonal skills
    • Valid driver’s licence
