Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Dietician.
Experience
Grade 1: None after registration with the HPCSA as a Dietician in respect of RSA qualified employees. 1-year relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA as a Dietician in respect of foreign qualified employees, of whom it is not required to perform Community Service, as required in South Africa.
Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA as a Dietician in respect of SA qualified employees. A Minimum of 11 years’ relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA as a Dietician in respect of foreign qualified employees, of whom it is not required to perform Community Service, as required in South Africa.
Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years’ relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA as Dietician in respect of SA qualified employees. A minimum of 21 years’ relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA as a Dietician in respect of foreign qualified employees, of whom it is not required to perform Community Service, as required in South Africa.
Duties
Managing burden of disease by improving nutrition in the early life and late life course to all patients. Provide community outreach, conduct projects and activities by rendering a therapeutic service. Capacitated workforce - provide in-service training and mentoring of all categories of personnel and students on nutrition related topics to. General administration including assisting with planning, reporting activities conducted, and monitoring of nutritional programmes.
