A postgraduate degree in Industrial Relations/Labour Law (NQF level 9) or equivalent is required AND a Certificate in Labour Dispute Management or similar as accredited by the CCMA.
At least 10 years’ experience in employee relations in a unionised environment.
At east 5 years’ senior managerial experience in industrial relations or labour law.
Summary of Duties:
Acts as a key point of contact for employees and management on employee relations issues.
Facilitates the flow of information and assures that appropriate parties are kept up to date while maintaining the utmost confidentiality regarding employee relations activities.
Conducts internal investigations into employee allegations of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, threats, violations to HR policies and other employment / legal matters.
Utilises case management system to monitor and manage employee relations issues and trends.
Monitor compliance to all applicable IR legislation and give advice on corrective action.
Guide management in adhering to employment relations business objectives and costs by providing data, input, review, analysis, modeling, or other information and support.
Align HR policies and procedures to comply with all relevant statutory and legislative frameworks.
Lead and coordinate all labour relations functions including Liaison with CCMA, Department of Labour and related bodies.
Monitor employee wellness programme offered by external service providers.
Oversee the development of a new and maintain existing wellness initiatives in line with DUT wellness policy.
Manage the Employment Equity Plan Development Process.
Guide the implementation employment equity and transformation processes/interventions.
Establish and maintain appropriate systems (analytical tools, information systems, projections of cost behaviour) and policies to ensure effective and efficient management of resources.
Monitor and measures the department performance in accordance with the metrics agreed upon in the performance agreements and corporate balance score card.
