Drakenstein Municipal Planning Trribunal Vacancy at Drakenstein Municipality

JOB PURPOSE:

• The Municipal Planning Tribunal consists of members of the public and officials with knowledge and experience of spatial planning and/or land use management, and/or to the law related thereto.
• Responsibilities will include preparing for meetings by reading reports, attending and participating at meetings of the tribunal, attending site inspections and other duties and functions provided for in the legislation.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

• Knowledge in spatial planning and/or land use management and/or the law relating thereto;
• Candidates to have a broad range of appropriate experience and expertise;
• Candidates should have a high degree of competence, be experienced, and skilled in matters relating to spatial planning and/or land use management and/or the law relating thereto;
• Registered with an appropriate professional body and have at least ten (10) years relevant experience in spatial planning and/or land use management and/or the law relating thereto.
• Interested parties are invited to submit nominations for members who have knowledge, experience and qualifications in one or more of the afore-mentioned fields to be appointed to the Drakenstein Municipality Municipal Planning Tribunal for five (5) years, subject to terms and conditions, with the possibility of an additional five (5) year extension should the parties accept at the time.

REMUNERATION:

This is a part time position, estimated to take about 3-5 hours per month, with remuneration at a rate of:

• R1 210 per hour for the actual meeting;
• R605 per hour for preparation time, with a maximum of 3 hours to prepare; and
• Travelling fees in line with the SARS Reimbursement Travel Rate.
