    e-Commerce Analyst

    SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:

    The purpose of the e-Commerce Analyst role is to help Colgate Palmolive South Africa develop an understanding of the e-Commerce market size, market share, international and local product and service pricing. This is a highly analytical role that requires considerable desktop research and consideration of data from multiple sources.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

    • Participates in development of e-commerce strategy for Colgate-Palmolive South Africa
    • Monitor and analyse online shopper activations, on site and off site that are customer focused.
    • Liaise with brand teams for strategy and brand guidelines. Provide evaluative data insights to support the pricing review process.
    • Assist development of best in class on site content (images, videos, layout, copy), SEO optimization. Support creation of content that tells compelling stories that in turn drive conversion.
    • Develops and strengthens relationship with e-retailers consumer insights in South Africa to improve Colgate-Palmolive business offering in e-commerce channel
    • Reporting on Customer Satisfaction studies and account planning understand customer’s needs and motivations in e-commerce channel
    • Monitors the achievement of sales objectives with each assigned account, identify gaps and opportunities on weekly basis and propose plans for exploiting business development activities and implement plans for remedial action
    • Monitors 6P (availability, pricing, shelf positioning, POS materials, promotional activities, professional recommendation level) and other e-commerce KPIs (traffic, conversion, etc) execution on a weekly basis, ensuring quick issues are escalated for attention and support to resolve problems is priority.
    • Provide insight plans for On-line retailers to grow mutual e-com business
    • Keeps on track e-retailers evolution, evaluate potential customers for Colgate-Palmolive and make proposals for new partnership
    • Ensures pricing strategy, as well as, promotions strategy to drive incremental sales volume in e-commerce channel
    • Support preparation process with annual business plans for each assigned account consistent with overall sales volume in e-commerce channel
    • Helps improve knowledge and understanding of e-commerce within a broader commercial team.
    • Keeps the organization abreast of the latest trends and developments which have business implications

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :

    • A Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics/ Statistics / Business Science and or Commerce. 
    • A proven track record of performance with at least 2years relevant experience in same or similar role
    • Commercial understanding is essential
    • Marketing/Customer Development/ Sales responsibility and strong relationship/Understanding of e-retailer landscape.
    • Working in e-commerce in either of the formats with clear operational responsibilities
