SMD Technologies, the home of Volkano, is looking for a dynamic leader to lead the ecommerce team in expanding its commercial market share across South Africa’s top online retail platforms. We are looking for candidates who have management and retail experience (not necessarily online retailers).

Responsibilities:
Support, mentor and lead a team of high performers by providing strategic insights and solutions, that will assist the team with exceeding monthly sales targets and manage key relationships with all relevant stakeholders
Develop and maintain operational and strategic synergy between the digital marketing team and the ecommerce sales team, by aligning digital campaigns to achieve sales targets
Develop and implement eCommerce strategy to improve platform sales and account performance
Collaborate with the marketing team to create effective digital campaigns that will improve traffic acquisition across multiple online retailers, and develop brand equity and mindshare
Deploy strategies that optimize product listings
Conduct market research and competitor analysis and discover new trends best online practice
Utilise data supported solutions and programs to formulate effective sales strategies and assess KPIs and KPAs
Report back to the Director, on the team’s overall performance, Year on Year ad Year to Date sales performances
Monitor sales performances of individual team members, and offer support and guidance where needed, to ensure sales targets are achieved.
Requirements:
At least 3 years of experience in a similar role
At least 3 years of management and leadership experience, with available references of former team members or managers, we can contact to verify your strong leadership capabilities and track record
Experience managing marketing and ad budgets
Experience developing and overseeing digital marketing strategies for the growth of your channels
Excellent understanding of analytics, sales tracking, data interpretation and proficient in excel
Strong marketing and tech background
Knowledge of digital marketing channels such as PPC, SEO, Social Media Display, affiliate marketing channels and digital marketing funnel
Knowledge of Attribution modelling, website speed optimization, A/B testing, conversion management, sales journey optimization, traffic analysis and reporting tools
