Educational Technologist - Johannesburg at Rosebank International

Job Purpose:

The Educational Technologist is responsible for providing training and support to the academic staff and students, to promote the adoption and development of online mediation skills in the RC Learn space to enhance the student learning experience. Furthermore, Educational Technologists are required to troubleshoot system errors as they arise.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Implementation of LMS decisions that support strategic imperatives.
• Supporting and Developing lecturers.
• Quality assurance of the Edtech experience.
• Assess the effectiveness of RCLearn training for students across programmes.
• Evaluate the ability of students to log on, navigate and engage on RCLearn.
• Promote online engagement culture.
• Implementing and supporting policies and The IIE Teaching and Learning (T&L) strategy regarding Ed Tech adoption.
• Lectures 1 module per semester.
• Promoting a culture of scholarship within their practice, discipline and campus/team and is also required to contribute towards The IIE’s Rosebank College achieving its annual research output targets.

Minimum Requirements:

Educational Requirements

• Tertiary Degree (NQF 7) & Postgraduate (NQF 8) with IT course in curriculum, as well as additional IT-related courses (ideal), e.g., eMarketing/cyber marketing.
• Undergraduate qualification (NQF 7), with PGDip (NQF 8), and IT-related courses are also acceptable, as well as educational courses. MOOCs in Education & IT.

Experience

• 2 years of Educational Technologist Experience.
• 1 year of lecturing experience.
