    Citrus Service Techninian

    JBT has an opportunity for a Service Technician to join our team based in Letsitele. 

    Reporting to our Service Manager based in Nelspruit, as Service Technician you will be responsible for service and maintenance of leased equipment at our customers' site in Letsitele.

    Responsibilities

    Working with our client in Letsitele, as our Service Technician you will maintain and service our equipment at customer sites, including remote locations (e.g., Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Durban) if applicable.  You will ensure that our machinery is clean, calibrated and performing up to JBT standards.  You will overhaul equipment to ensure that performance will also adhere to JBT and customer standards and assist in field testing of equipment, diagnosing errors or technical problems and provide proper solutions.  You will work closely with your Service Manager and the Sales Department to ensure good communication from the customer site to JBT Head office. 

    Previous experience as a Service Technician would be valuable but someone with foundational skills and a keenness to learn our equipment is necessary! Finally, you may use your expertise to help install new JBT equipment. 

    Requirements for this position:

    • Grade 12
    • Minimum 3 years mechanical and basic electrical experience.
    • Product knowledge of working with food machinery previously an advantage. 
    • We would like Pneumatic, Hydraulic and Calibration skills, but we can develop the areas that you do not have experience in. 
    • Instrumentation reading ability.
    • Basic computer literacy.
    • Drivers licence.

    Field Service Technician

    JBT has an opportunity for a Field Service Technician to join our team based in Johannesburg. 

    JBT South Africa supports a wide variety of equipment. Although the role would be open to specialization into a particular type of equipment in a certain field, the person should be open to learn about a wide array of machinery.

    Responsibilities

    A day in the life of a Field Service Technician includes:-

    • Assist with installations of electronics for tanker systems.
    • Ensure wiring is correct as per drawings for the various installation, prior to delivery of the system.
    • Assisting customers with training and commission of flow computers.
    • Relook installations to ensure effective use of time and production runs to plan.
    • Assist customers with breakdowns and fault finding.
    • Do ad hoc maintenance to the JBT buildings and premises.
    • Perform all duties in accordance with safety policies and procedures while maintaining a safety-focused work mentality.
    • Complete service reports timely.
    • Follow good assembly practices while performing job duties.

    Requirements

    • Qualified millright with appropriate qualifications and certifications.
    • 2 to 4 years working experience as a qualified millwright.
    • Proven mechanical, computer and electrical understanding.
    • Basic computer and smart phone skills such as use of email, Word, Excel, etc.
    • Experience serving customers and working as a team to achieve success.
    • High level of dedication to safety and quality.
    • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Ability to work with mathematical concepts.
    • Passion to deliver results on our customers’ needs.
    • Ability to adhere to JBT culture and values.
