Electrical Engineer (Pr Eng/Pr Tech Eng) – Consulting Industry at RPO Recruitment

RPO Recruitment’s client, a reputable and well established multi-disciplinary engineering consulting firm in South Africa, is currently looking to hire a qualified and experienced Electrical Engineer who can join their successful and growing team in Durban as soon as possible.

Responsibilities:

• Perform and oversee Electrical engineering activities for various industrial projects in the private and government sectors to safely deliver on all company operational plans during the project execution phase;
• Engineering design in accordance with established standards and codes of practice;
• Reviewing technical documentation and defining electrical engineering requirements;
• Carrying out technical evaluations, preparation of specifications for electrical infrastructure and installations;
• Carry out feasibility and electrical power system studies;
• Attend factory acceptance tests and provide input to vendor’s test documentation.
• Manage and assist with plant electrical equipment and system installation and commissioning;
• Accountability for quality, risk management, financial performance, scope management and client satisfaction in all project undertaken
• Liaise with the client to ensure that agreed designs are in accordance with agreed requirements;
• Representation at client and professional meetings with the ability to present work and engage in a technical conversations in a professional manner;

Requirements:

• BEng/BSc or BTech degree in Electrical Engineering
• Between 7 and 10 years electrical engineering experience in industrial and infrastructure projects in the private and government sectors
• Registered with ECSA as Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng
• Proficiency in DIgSILENT, ETAP, Loadflow, Fault Study Modelling
• Greenfields and brownfields plant design and construction experience
• Ability to provide mentorship to students and graduates
