Engineer: Bridges - Cape Town at WSP in Africa

Job Description

Experience as a Civil Engineer with exposure to Bridges and Civil Structures is required for this role based in Cape Town with projects across the Transport & Infrastructure business unit. The Incumbent will utilize their qualifications and experience in Bridge and Structural Engineering to work within a team of professional engineers and technologists in delivering projects related to reinforced concrete, bridges, culverts etc.

• Ability to work in a team environment and must have excellent verbal and written skills
• Detail oriented with strong skills in structural analysis
• Client liaison and project management
• Ability to undertake bridge/structural tasks as part of project development.
• Ability to successfully interface with staff from a range of other disciplines (traffic, civil, planning, geotechnical, etc.) to support a diverse range of projects
• Ability to grow and develop the Structures engineering team, including interfacing divisional or project directors, meeting with clients to develop and expand work

Qualifications

• BEng or BSc Civil Engineering
• Must be a registered Candidate Engineer with ECSA
• Professional Engineer with ECSA – highly advantageous
• 5+ years’ experience in a similar role
• Experience working on large, infrastructure projects (Culverts and Bridge)
• Registered culvert inspector
