Engineering Artisan - Electrician at Minopex

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with NCPO Health and Safety requirements
• Identify hazards and risks while performing daily tasks and maintenance and take preventative measures
• Comply with provided systems, practices, methods, standards and procedures of the job
• Adhere to lock out procedures at all times
• Comply with legal and operational requirements
• Visual inspection of working areas to ensure workplace safety
• Ensure adherence to the Company's Environmental Management Program and objectives and compliance with statutory legislation and the Strategic Management Plan

Qualification Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification  
• Valid Section 13 Trade Test / Section 26(D) Certificate required 
• Instrumentation certification/qualification will be an added advantage 
• Valid driver’s license code B, EB or C1
• Own transport to attend to call outs

Experience and Skills Requirements 

• Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience as a qualified Electrician in a DMS Plant
• Medium voltage competency, including certification thereof VSD trained
• At least 3yrs instrumentation experience and exposure with good knowledge on PLC and scada systems
• Experience in one of the following smart relays; Siemens, Allen Bradley, or Schneider
• Good trouble shooting skills
• Knowledge of maintaining MV motors will be an added advantage
• Must be able to work in confined spaces and at heights
• Must be familiar with risk assessment procedures and provide input
• Not colour blind
• English language proficiency
• Time management skills
