Job Description

Zutari is currently recruiting for a civil engineer with experience in the Bulk Infrastructure (Pumpstations and Pipelines) sector of the industry to be based in Cape Town. The particular need for this role is for a person who has technical skills in designs of bulk infrastructure (water and sewer pumpstations, pipelines and associated hydraulics) and the ability to independently undertake aspects of a design in support of the project manager.  Experience of work on multi-disciplinary projects (civil, mechanical & electrical disciplines in the water/wastewater industries) and contract management (General Conditions of Contract 2015, FIDIC Red and Yellow Books) will be advantageous. 

Responsibilities

• Perform highly complex engineering designs, calculations, and analysis of bulk water and sewage infrastructure systems.
• Responsible for the design of bulk water and sewage infrastructure systems (specifically including pump stations, pipelines and reservoirs (hydraulic designs), with key contributions on 3D models, technical drawings and details.
• Produce other key deliverables on projects, such as technical reports, specifications, and tender documentation.
• Assist in the management of construction contracts.
• Be a team player that is willing to collaborate across multiple disciplines and international geographies.

Minimum Requirements

• Beng or BSc degree in Civil Engineering.  A MEng or MSc degree in Water Engineering will be an advantage.  
• Minimum 5 or more years’ experience as a Civil Engineer
• Professional Registration (Pr Eng) will be an advantage
• Proficiency in Civil3D, Revit, Bentley (WaterGEMS and Surge) or similar design software
• Demonstrable leadership qualities will be an advantage
• Willing to travel for projects (local and international)
• Valid driver’s licence for RSA
