Examiner of Motor Vehicle at KouKamma Municipality

Task Grade 09: R 255 575.00 - R 331 759.00 p.a plus benefits
Requirements:

• Grade 12
• Valid Grade A Examiner of Motor Vehicles Certificate issued by an accredited RTMC training provider.
• Registered with The Department of Transport.
• No criminal record (police clearance certificate must be attached with application) or pending investigation against the applicant.
• Valid driving license: Code EC and A.
• Minimum 1 year experience in vehicle examination as a Grade A Examiner.
• Computer literacy with eNatis experience essential.
• Medically fit for duty.
• Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and weekends if required.

Responsibilities:

• Checking details of application received against identification and/ or relevant supporting documents.
• Applying vehicle testing sequence, examining vehicles and establishing informing on outcomes.
• Determining mechanical roadworthiness of all codes of vehicles on accordance with Road Safety and Traffic legislations, conducting visual tests and using electronic test equipment to establish conformance/ deviations with specifications and /or driving vehicles to assess braking/ steering performance prior issuing certification.
• Updating schedules and registers reflecting licensing and testing applications processed and extracting summarised reports detailing the status of activities and forwarding the immediate supervisor for processing.
• Receiving directives from the immediate superior and amending procedure manuals guiding testing sequences to read current with legislative requirements and specific regulations.
• Monitoring the execution of cleaning sequences and/or the storage of tools/equipment at the Testing Pit and implementing corrective measures to support with specific safety standards.
