Fabrication Estimator at The Talent Expert

What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it):

• You will be responsible for preparing accurate estimates for metalwork, engineering and fabrication projects, ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards.
• You will collaborate with project teams to design layouts and determine the costs of metalwork, including sizes and specifications.
• You will create detailed quotes based on project requirements, tender specifications and client needs, including materials, equipment and labour costs.
• You will also interact with clients to gather project information, understanding their technical needs and provide solutions that meet their expectations.
• You will utilise your strong knowledge of engineering, boiler making and estimation in the mechanical field to contribute to effective project planning and execution.
• You will be working with the sales team to achieve sales targets and KPI’s while ensuring the profitability of projects.

What you’ll need:

• Proven experience as an Estimator, preferably in the fabrication, furnace and mining industry.
• You have strong technical knowledge of metalwork and estimation processes as well as a demonstrated ability to achieve KPIs.
• You are proficient in Microsoft Outlook and experienced with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and quoting tools.
• You have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• A technical or engineering degree is preferred, though relevant experience and expertise will also be considered.
