Fairlands | Male Au Pair | R8000 - R10000 at Au Pair Extraordinaire

• Area: Fairlands, Randburg
• Ages: 9 year old son 
• Child’s Neurodivergence Snapshot: ADHD / vestibular disorder, aversion to homework although does well academically and is very smart, difficulty getting started on tasks and difficulty with proper planning and organising themselves
• Support Style: Extremely smart but gets impatient and checks out due to perfectionism. Difficulty tackling tasks and homework-averse. Requires a lot of positive affirmation, and tasks need to be broken up in order to be executed bit by bit independently
• Working hours: Tues, Wed and Thurs 16:00 - 18:00 and two Saturdays per month from 09:00 - 13:00
• School holiday hours: Same hours as above
• Duties: Oversee homework, enjoy bike riding, going to the park, and doing fun activities like watching him on his jungle gym, kicking a ball, building Lego, and conversing with him in a way that builds a sense of what a healthy, mature adult man sounds, looks, and feels like.
• Requirements: A teaching background (preferably with special needs/neurodivergent kids) would be a bonus. I would want the candidate to commit to a minimum of two years in the position. Someone strong, mature, and sure of himself is important. A creative “out-of-the-box” thinker and an animal/nature lover would be an asset, as my son is quirky and imaginative, adores animals and nature, and needs a lot of attention and stimulation.
• Start date: 01 April 2026 – permanent contract - Need a long term commitment
• Salary: R8000 - R10000 per month (gross, before deductions) + SARS rates per km (R4.76) for any driving done directly for the family. Not to get to and from work. Salary Dependent on Experience and qualifications

All Au Pair Extraordinaire applicants must fill the following requirements:

• Must have at least 12 consecutive months of formal child caring experience, excluding work done for friends and family. This experience must be within the last 2 years.
• Must have their own, reliable car and at least 18 months driving experience.
• Must have at least 2 contactable childcare references.
• Must have a clear criminal record
• Must have a passion for children
• Must have Matric
• Must have a South African ID document.
