Farm Foreman: Pomology (Elsenburg), Ref No. AGR 73/2025 at Western Cape Government

Job Purpose    

• The Department of Agriculture, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a competent individual to oversee the execution of routine and specialised farming activities.

Minimum Requirements    

• Senior certificate/Grade 12 (or equivalent qualification)
• A minimum of 1 year relevant experience in Pome, Stone, and/or Citrus production or simialr; A valid (Code 8) driving licence.

Key Performance Areas    

• Oversee the execution of routine activities in respect of fruit production; Oversee the execution of general routine activities; Oversee the execution of general routine activities in respect of infrastructure; Perform all administrative and related functions
• The following will be advantageous: Proven working knowledge of all fruit crops produced in the Western Cape; Working knowledge of alternative crops produced in the western Cape. 

Competencies    

• A good understanding of the following: Pruning methods; Tractor driving and spraying with a spray car; Basic computer literacy; Forklift driving; Written and verbal communication skills.

Remuneration    

• R 228 321- R 268 950 per annum (Salary Level 5)
