Field Technician at Syngenta

Job Description
Role Purpose 

• To provide an effective support service to the SAF Brassica seed production team at Lutzville SAF

Accountabilities

• Representation of Syngenta work ethics
• Equipment maintenance i.e.Threshers, Planters, Ghrops, Lettuce Harvester and Trailers
• Stock/equipment - control management
• Sowing of stock seeds for field productions
• Setup and control of transplanting equipment, during transplanting season
• Ensure plant health through spraying, rogue and cutting of flower heads and field trails
• Seed production seed intake management/control
• Management of pre-cleaning the produced seeds
• Taking of representative seed samples from all batches
• Packaging of seeds for export
• Cleaning of production facilities

Qualifications
Qualifications, experience & capabilities

• Minimum Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent
• Teamwork and working with clients
• 5 years experience in Agriculture related work environment
• Basic knowledge of operating seed cleaning equipment or Agriculture equipment
• Basic knowledge of responsible Agricultural chemical use
• Basic vegetable seed crop & production knowledge
• Forklift maintenance and handling experience
