    Finance and Operations Director

    ABOUT THE ROLE

    The Finance and Operations Director is expected to be a hands-on and participative individual who can provide strategic and operational direction across multiple areas including Finance, Human Resources, IT and Logistics.

    Responsibilities include

    • Build and maintain relationships with all department heads, external partners, and vendors to make decisions regarding operational activity and strategic goals
    • Undertake overall financial management and accounting of the organization, including the preparation of financial reports
    • Drive the process of generating and tracking budgets for the organization
    • Manage financial contributions from donors, government and the private sector
    • Oversee human resources, including staff recruitment, performance management and professional development
    • Update/maintain HR systems, records and reports with accurate employee data
    • Collaborate with the IT manager to ensure systems run smoothly and efficiently
    • Oversee internal and external logistics including warehouse management etc.
    • Provide administrative assistance, including oversight of facility vendors and contracts, and establishing and managing vendor accounts and relationships
    • Devise strategies to ensure growth of programs enterprise-wide, identifying and implementing process improvements that will maximize output and minimize
    • Upgrade and implement a system of policies, internal controls and procedure
    • Provide programmatic support to the program teams as needed

    Required qualifications

    • A bachelor’s degree from a business-related degree
    • 10 years’ experience in a senior position of a finance and operations related role
    • Superior knowledge of multiple operational functions and principles, including human resources, operational efficiency, information technology, administration etc.
    • Proven ability to plan and manage operational process for maximum efficiency and productivity
    • Proven ability to establish and build relationships
    • A strong ability to engage and grow a network of stakeholders
    • Vast experience living and working in South Africa
