The position will provide financial leadership and strategic support to the PEPMoney and Value Added Services (VAS) businesses through accurate financial and management reporting, insightful analysis, and commercial guidance. The Finance Manager will be responsible for management reporting, financial modelling, data analysis, and the design of effective reports that enable informed decision-making. In addition, the role will lead the Value Added Services finance team, ensuring strong financial reconciliation and control, performance monitoring, and the delivery of actionable insights that support business growth and profitability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Compile and deliver accurate monthly management accounts for the PEPMoney business within agreed deadlines.
Prepare and review journals, accruals, provisions and general ledger reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Analyse and report on gross margin performance, including front margin, supplier rebates and stock adjustments, as well as commissions earned on financial services and cost of doing business.
Investigate and explain variances in sales, costs, profitability and key operational metrics compared to budget, forecasts and prior year.
Collaborate with the broader Finance team to resolve variances and continuously improve financial processes.
Prepare and review quarterly financial forecasts for the PEPMoney business..
Prepare and review the financial budget and three-year strategic financial plan for the PEPMoney business, including supporting analysis and stakeholder engagement.
Prepare financial models, business cases and commercial analyses for new initiatives, products and capital investments.
Provide insights and recommendations that support strategic decision-making and improved financial performance.
Lead and support the VAS finance team, providing direction on operational and financial matters.
Requirements
A BCOM degree (with Accounting major) or equivalent
CIMA or Chartered Accountant (SA) with at least 3 years of post-qualification advantageous
3 - 5 years of financial and management reporting experience preferably in a retail environment and/or commercial environment
Commercially astute, articulate, strong technical skills, insightful and an influential leader impacting at both strategic and operational level
